message in a light-hearted and entertaining way.

Remember... when answering the door
If someone turns up at your door, the first thing to do is always put your door chain on. If you haven’t got one, get one. Ask for identification. Take it and read it. If you are at all unsure, telephone the company concerned. If it’s a policeman, a fireman or if they are from one of the utility companies they won’t mind. They expect you to ask for identification.
If you are at all unsure, never ring the number on the identification. Instead, look in one of the telephone
directories or perhaps look at one of your utility bills - then ring that number. Tell them “there is a person at my
door, are they supposed to be here?” and wait for an answer. If the person at your door is bona fide, they won’t mind waiting. If they are ‘tricksters’ they will be gone.
Another benefit of taking the identification, is that you will
then have their ‘card’. It’s quite likely it’s got their photo- graph on it and certainly their fingerprints!
